Elite Guards

Klay Thompson-Klay Thompson is a shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors, he moves extremely well when he does not have the ball, he doesnt dribble much, but he puts himself in great positions as a,  “catch-and-shoot” kind of player. Klay Thompson is a very confident shooter as well. Here is a video showing his catch-and-shoot ability in action.

Russell Westbrook-Up next we have a mirror opposite of Klay Thompson, his name is Russell Westbrook. Russell Westbrook is the point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, he is more of a, “off the dribble” kind of scorer. Also he is very athletic, very aggressive, and very quick.

Demar Derozan-Demar Derozan is the shooting guard for the Toronto Raptors. Well, not much we can say about him, he is a, “mid range monster” which means he is an amazing shooter when it comes from 13 feet out through 16 feet out (pretty much the free throw line). Demar Derozan is also known for being able to shoot over two people at a time and still be able to make the shot. He has gained that attribute to his game by playing a lot of street ball as a kid, so there would be a lot of contact and he had to learn how to get his shot off.

Isaiah Thomas-Isaiah Thomas currently is on the Boston Celtics, he stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall! You may wonder, how is someone who is 5’9 play in the NBA? Well, he is an amazing offensive player. He passes the ball amazingly, and he is so fast. And to top that off, he has a great three point shot!

Native American Mascots

Should teams use Native American Mascots

Do you know the percentage of  Native American tribes that agree with Native American mascots? Nearly 90% of Native Americans are not offended by Native American mascots according to George Will of  NewsMax.Teams should be able to keep the mascot if they have permission, not considered racist, and don’t discriminate against players or staff of color.

Teams should be allowed to use Native American Mascots if they get permission from the tribe they are named after. For example the Central Michigan Chippewas have gotten permission and the tribe agrees the name is not racist. The Florida State Seminoles have also gotten permission from the Seminole tribe they feel the team honors their people and their ancestors. Those tribes have given those teams permission to use their names so they should not be changed.

Teams that don’t have racist names should be allowed to use the mascot they have . For example the Golden State Warriors are not a racist name. Most Native American tribes consider the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians not to be racist.Native American tribes do however consider Redskin and other names to be racist according to espn.

If a team is racist to their players they shouldn’t be able to use Native American  mascots.

My Top Three Favorite Music Artist

Hey guys, it’s Liv here from JCrew news. This is a list of my top three favorite musicians. No hate in the comments or anything like that, please. Music is a huge source of happiness for me and I’m very passionate about it. Thank you. Pictures of the bands down below.

  1. Panic! At The Disco– Guess that song! *I chime in with a haven’t you people ever heard of closing a _______ door* If you said I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At The Disco, then you’re correct!  Panic! is my number one favorite band of all time. The band just recently came to Louisville, KY on the Death of A Bachelor tour. I went to the concert. It. Was. AMAZING. Brendon Urie, age 30, lead singer, is the only original member of the band when it was formed in 2004. As I previously stated, they are my number one favorite band of all time.
  2. My Chemical Romance– Guess that song! *When I was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band* If you said Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance, then you’re correct! I love this band, even though they broke up 4 years ago. Their most popular album is probably The Black Parade. That album contains the emo anthem, Welcome to the Black Parade. Yes, I did just say that.
  3. Melanie Martinez– Guess that song! *You seem to replace your brain with your heart, you take thing so hard and then you fall apart* If you said Crybaby by Melanie Martinez, then you’re correct! I actually did a blog on Melanie a little while ago so go and check that out for information about her.

Logan Rohrbacher- Live Report

Ethan Merk Live Report

Greg Rouse Live Report

Dillon Heinrich Live Report

Write up:

In my live reports I interviewed Dillon Heinrich, Greg Rouse, and Ethan Merk. I interviewed all of them on wrestling. The first person that I interviewed was Dillon and we talked about the types of wrestling and how good that he does. In the interview he also talks about how many wins and losses he has. Another thing that we talk about is what teams that he plays for during and out of school. When we talked about the team that he plays for outside of school he mentions that it is very rare that you’ll find a wrestling team and more often that you’ll have to play solo.  He also said that he does folk style in school and freestyle out of school. When asking him what he preferred he said that he likes freestyle since their are less boundaries than folk style.

The next person that I interviewed was Greg Rouse and I asked him about his season and what he did during the season to prepare. The first question that I asked him was how he felt about wrestling and he said that it was fun but he could have had a better season. The next thing that I asked is his favorite wrestler and he said Dillon Heinrich since he doesn’t watch much professional wrestling. Next I asked him how long he has been playing and it has been around seven years. Finally, the last thing that I asked him was where he practices at and he said he doesn’t play for a team but just goes to camps.

Finally, the last person that I interviewed was Ethan Merk and the main focus that I was asking him was what his thoughts were on wrestling. I asked hi question like his biggest rival and who he lost and he answered both questions as Lawrenceburg. Another question that I asked him was how he has been doing to improve. And he has been doing little things such as running and lifting weights. Now, the last one that I ended up asking was some of his favorite pro wrestlers to watch but he didn’t seem that interested. I really enjoyed interviewing everyone over wrestling and their season. That is all that I did for my live report.

Spatolas Wrestling Camp

I recently went to a wrestling Camp over the weekend.  It is a freestyle wrestling camp.  It was about 5 hours each day.  Nick Spatola is one of the coaches that I learned from and one of the other coach’s name is Mike Dehart.  The practice is split into three parts first practice which is about and hour and thirty minuets and then a two hour lunch break to rest and re hydrate and then about 120 minutes of live wrestling.

They talk about defensive and offensive sides of wrestling and they also teach you how to do a few moves. Like how to a lateral press and a faster firemans carry and a inside leg stand up.  a turk.  They Teach you what works for them not just moves. They sometimes bring in special guests like the NCAA  world champion Logan Stieber.

How to make the best brownies

Hey guys it’s Tori with this weeks blog. This weeks blog is about how to make brownies. The first thing that you are going to do is put the grease and flour all over the pan. Then in a sauce pan or a bowl  you melt 1/2 cup of butter.

The next ingredients that you will need are eggs, sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla. You will mix all of these ingredients. After you do all of this you will beat 1/3 cup of coca, 1/2 cup of flour, baking powder, and salt. Then you will mix all of them together and put in the pan that has grease and flour. When you are done with all of these steps, you will preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Wait for the oven to preheat, when it is done put the brownies in the oven and let them bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Take them out of the oven and wait for them to cool. When they are done cooling put them on a plate and enjoy. That is all the steps that you need to know about how to make the best homemade brownies ever. Thanks for reading. Bye.

Things I am Doing This Summer

Hello, and thank you for reading my last blog of the school year.  For this blog I will be talking all about some thing I will be doing over the summer.  We have a two-month summer break this year, so there is plenty of time to do all of the things that we enjoy.

One thing that I will be doing over the summer is practicing the violin a lot.  I plan to practice about four hours a day, but only for about a month.  During that month I will also be having violin lessons two times a week.  For the other month, I will only be practicing for one hour and have lessons once a week. I will have three pieces to work on this summer, and plan on improving a lot.

During the summer I will also be taking more walks in the woods and spending more time with our animals.  I feel like I need to get out into nature and interact with our animals more.  I also think that it is good to take walks because it is good to get some fresh air and a little exercise.

I will also be doing other things over the summer, like redoing my room and going swimming a lot.  I think that my summer will be a lot of fun and I hope yours is too.  Have a good end of the school year and  great summer!

Hayley´s LR- FCCLA Special needs dinner night.

FCCLA’s Family dinner and game night for kids with special needs.

Abby putting a puzzle together.

Larosa´s donated a lot of food for the night.

This is a group photo of everyone that went.

WE stayed after school to help set up the tables and games. We covered the tables with paper and put crayons down for the kids to color on the table. We also put down flowers and games.then we started making cookies and setting up the table for the rest of the food.Larosa’s donated a lot of the food we had. This amazing dinner was put on by Janae S. She made goodie bags for all the kids. Next we turned on Disney songs and hung up posters. The families started arriving and then we served dinner. After dinner Janae went to the front and was talking about how thankful she was to get to be friends with these wonderful kids and was thankful for all the help of us FCCLA officers. Next we went out in the hallway to play games. Sadly after the games the families started going home. Over all the night was a great success and it was so fun for both the kids and the FCCLA officers!
